Trials

Trials is a single player only time trial mode. In each stage the player must successfully destroy a varying number of dummies using any available means in the shortest time possible. There are 3 separate stages for each of the 16 main towers for a combined total of 48 stages. The stages are generally themed around the powerups and objects that appear in a given tower and can teach a lot of fundamental concepts to players who invest effort into solving each time-based challenge.

Each stage has 3 achievements based on time performance:

The standard Gold Medal times can generally be achieved with clever utilization of only the basic abilities.

The faster Diamond times require use of some advanced techniques in a much shorter time constraint.

The hidden Red Pearl developer times make use of almost all the advanced techniques in specialized ways, particularly dodge cancels, and require precision input of the highest order to achieve the incredibly fast times required. The player's combined fastest time for all Trials stages will be displayed once they have all been successfully cleared.

Dark World Red Pearls

All of the Dark World Trials developer times are yet to be cleared by players, an ongoing discussion of which is found in this Steam discussion. After submission of evidence of a successfully beaten Dark World developer time, a video will be uploaded to Suyooo's YouTube channel demonstrating the relevant developer time. Suyooo was responsible for setting the developer times for the Dark World expansion.

Yellow Gems

Hidden throughout the Trials stages are 7 yellow gems that are involved in a fetch quest to unlock the Yellow archer. Refer to the Yellow Archer's page for specific details.
